UPHOLD INTEGRITY EASTERN PROVINCE REGISTRATION OFFICER URGES.

The Eastern Province Registration Officer, Mr. Alex Bwalya, has called on Voter Education Facilitators (VEFs) in Petauke District to uphold the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and impartiality as they prepare for the upcoming mass voter registration exercise scheduled to run from 13th October to 11th November 2025.

Speaking during his visit to Nyika Hotel, where selected facilitators are attending a five-day voter education training workshop, Mr. Bwalya commended the participants for their commitment and reminded them that they serve as the frontline representatives of the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) in their respective communities.

Mr. Bwalya emphasized that the facilitators are the face of the Commission and must embody ECZ’s core values of integrity, impartiality, and inclusivity. He underscored the importance of providing accurate, timely, and credible information to ensure that every eligible voter is well-informed about the registration process.

Highlighting the Commission’s goal, Mr. Bwalya revealed that the ECZ has set a national voter registration target of 3.5 million citizens. He stressed that achieving this target will require teamwork, transparency, and active community engagement at every level of the process.

The ongoing training, which began on 4th October and concludes on 8th October 2025, forms part of ECZ’s broader strategy to strengthen grassroots voter education and promote widespread participation in the forthcoming electoral process.

Mr. Bwalya commended the facilitators for their dedication and enthusiasm, noting that their efforts will play a pivotal role in enhancing public awareness, participation, and trust in Zambia’s electoral system. He encouraged them to reach out to every corner of their communities, urging all eligible citizens to register early and actively participate in shaping the nation’s democratic future.

The Electoral Commission of Zambia further calls on all eligible citizens in Petauke District and across the Eastern Province to take part in the upcoming voter registration exercise, reaffirming that every registered voter strengthens Zambia’s democratic foundation.
