General Administration
  • Establish and maintain offices and buildings for council business and public meetings.
  • Insure against losses, damages, risks, and liabilities incurred by the council.
  • Maintain law and order and ensure national security and good administration.
Public Health and Sanitation
  • Control the display of advertisements in public places.
  • Establish and maintain sanitary services, including refuse removal and sewage disposal.
  • Control slaughterhouses, abattoirs, and meat sales to ensure food safety.
  • Prohibit and control offensive or dangerous trades.
  • Take measures for public health preservation, including pest control (mosquitoes, rats, etc.).
  • Establish and maintain cemeteries, mortuaries, and burial services.
Environmental Management
  • Control soil erosion and conservation of natural resources.
  • Regulate grass, weeds, and wild vegetation.
  • Maintain local forests and woodlands.
  • Control pollution of water sources.
